Get Outdoors Leadville! is ecstatic to invite everyone to the Community Gear Library Grand Opening for our incredible new permanent facility on the Colorado Mountain College – Leadville campus! This space has been >5 years in the making and it’s a huge celebration that the community’s vision is finally reality. The Gear Library is a welcoming space for the whole Lake County community, created as a launch point for outdoor adventures, center for nature-inspired education, and home for GOL!’s programming. We can’t wait to welcome you to enjoy it with us!

See a virtual building tour and get inspired by guest presenters: 
  • Vanessa Saldivar – Our very own new GOL! Executive Director
  • Melissa Simpson – a Leadville local and CMC graduate who navigates life with cerebral palsy and a wheelchair AND who is a MOUNTAIN CLIMBER!
  • Franklin Cruz – a queer latin poet born from an immigrant family – will wow us with slam poetry about immigration, culture, nature, and more!
  • This event is FREE and open to the public.

Saturday, April 17, 10am-6pm – Open-House Style Grand Opening of the Community Gear Library

Get Outdoors Leadville! will be hosting an open-house style Grand Opening at the *new* Community Gear Library building at Colorado Mountain College’s campus (Here’s a map with a pin marking our location – we are still new enough that we’re not on the map/satellite image yet; we’re a blue building just west of the Climax -gym- building).

  • Kids activities all day (snowball archery, frozen dragon-egg hunt, and more) 
  • Borrow gear for your own mini-adventure
  • Go on small-group tours of the new facility 
  • And more! 
  • For kids and ALL ages. 
  • This event is FREE and open to the public. COVID practices will be followed.
